Who opens up a gallery in the middle of a global pandemic? The answer - Springboard Arts Chicago. It wasn't planned that way but the decisions had already been made, work had already started and then the pandemic hit. Who knew?
I am proud to be featured in their Inaugural Art Exhibit "Illuminate" with photos taken in Chicago on Sunday Morning over the past 35 years. The exhibit runs through February 22.
I quote from their website:
"It would be easy to believe the world is cloaked in darkness. But Springboard Arts Chicago invites you to join us as we illuminate the darkness through art. We believe the arts have the power to brighten our lives. Music, theatre, performance art, dance, and fine art light up our world. In our inaugural show, we are featuring 15 inspiring artists. We hope you’ll allow them to illuminate your indoor spaces this season. In lieu of a grand opening event, we are welcoming visitors by appointment."
With Chicago recently entering Tier 1, you can now make an appointment to see the Gallery and the exhibit. For more information, please go to https://springboardarts.com.
I was also asked to take photos of the interior of the gallery so here's a slide show. It's a beautiful space, designed by Ashley Freeland Miller, Architect. The artwork is also spectacular.
